St. Joseph's/Candler Physician Network - Neurology

My doctor is Dr. Poston and I cannot say enough positive reviews about him. Since 2020 I have had disabling neurological side effects from the covid vaccine/covid. Dr poston and my primary care have made my life livable again. Yes it did take months to get my first appointment with him after my ER visit with stroke symptoms, but since I first saw him he has been knowledgeable and has listened to my concerns. From being a D1 athlete to someone that cannot get out of bed most days, the acute changes that have disabled me have been devastating. But, dr postons responsive treatment and knowledge have truly given me back about 20% of what i used to be. I truly cannot thank him enough to help me as I navigate this difficult time.

This is the worst experience I have ever had. I recently had a seizure and they claim there is nothing they can do to help… imagine that. A neurologist not helping a seizure patient. I’d recommend EVERYONE to look elsewhere except this incompetent, negligent practice. Flat out pathetic. Dr. Trumbo (spelling) especially.

This afternoon, after being hospitalized, I reached out to inquire about available appointments with Dr. Trumble, who is reputed to be the best in town. Unfortunately, my experience with the phone representative was far from positive; the person was unprofessional and rude. Instead of simply stating that there were no openings, she responded with a dismissive and aggressive "mmmmm, no." Given my previous encounters with medical professionals at this institution, I have reservations, but I am still willing to give Dr. Trumble a chance. I urge the hospital to be more mindful of the individuals they employ to handle phone inquiries, as it significantly impacts their reputation.

This place is a joke. If I could give negative stars I would. Can’t get anyone to answer a phone to make an appointment for a referral. Been trying for 3 months. This is typical St Joseph’s/Candler. It has to be the most unprofessionally ran healthcare system that I have ever dealt with. When you do get in touch with someone they are rude and unhelpful. It’s also bad when employees give you numbers to other neurologist instead of making you an appointment which is claimed to be first available and is 6 months away. St Joseph’s/Candler is poorly ran from the CEO down to the doctors offices that are affiliated with them. I’d steer clear of anything SJCHS if possible.

After waiting 3 months for a appointment, I arrive at the scheduled time for them to inform me I can’t be seen because I have my 9 month old with me. As if being a military family isn’t hard enough now I’m expected to let some random person watch my child so I can go to a doctors appointment. No. If I wasn’t allowed to bring anyone then why wasn’t I told when the appointment was scheduled. A 9 month old. And maybe a little professional training for the front desk lady because rude is not professional. I’ve worked in the medical field I know it’s stressful, but leave that at the door. The appointment was made without knowing if my spouse would be “home”. So to be turned away after waiting 3 months is a joke.
