St. Charles Urgent Care - La Pine

I’ve been to urgent care and hospitals all over the country, and it’s rare to find staff who truly care. Here, the nurse, the phlebotomist, and my doctor were professional and genuinely attentive. They listened, explained things, and made me feel like my health mattered not just a number. This kind of care is rare and much appreciated!

Leaving this review because I feel like people deserve to know what they might experience here. My husband and I each had to make a visit here within a couple weeks of one another. We both just received our bills (as they do not take payment at time or service). Each visit was simple in nature (no x-ray, stitches, etc) and the billing was 500.00 for each of us. Five hundred dollars for a visit to Urgent Care! This was for ten minutes of consultation on non-complex cases. This is beyond absurd. Had I the faintest idea this would be the case, we'd never have stepped foot in this place. If you can, find any other alternative solution.

Update: They called me at 3:08 to make sure i had left. And were laughing while in the phone with me. Hella unprofessional. I see a regular doctor here, who honestly, is sub-par at best, but today really set me off. I am epileptic, diabetic, and had a fall at home that resulted in injuries to my feet, knees, elbow, shoulder, and most importantly, my head. I reported these issues at arrival, having worked ER reception I know this is a see it first case. I don't mind waiting a bit for a provider, but there has been 18 people seen before me, 7 urgent care walk in's after I arrived. For some more serious issues I dont mind waiting. But, one I had spoken to was just a woman and her daughter who had an ankle injury days prior and wanted to check on if it was getting better. I arrived at 1pm

So far, I could have driven to my own office in Redmond, been seen, and on my way out the door in the amount of time I have been sitting in the waiting area. There hasn't been a single person called back, not a single nurse or med aid has come to say why the delay, and it sure as heck isn't super busy with lots of 'emergent issues' being seen. No one is being seen. Highly disappointing. Care hasn't improved since I was here 9 years ago. As an update, left after the first checked in people still had been waiting for an hour and 15 minutes and I had been waiting an hour and 10. Also: I am a nurse practitioner, with family and urgent care experience. This was just flat out horrible care.

While speaking to my oldest son he suggested that what I was experiencing was Covid 19. I remembered I had a test kit and I took it. I’m 82 so I was concerned so I called St Charles in La Pine. The woman who answered suggested I follow the CDC guidelines. When I asked what the guidelines were she transferred me to Sara. Her curt response was for me to Google the CDC guidelines on the internet. I found this a non-caring rude unprofessional response. I was referred to her for health advice. She did not refer to her self as a Dr, an RN, a PA or a Janitor. As a senior, unfamiliar with the severity of my situation I was left with waiting for Monday when the VA would treat me with respect. Sara needs to be retrained.
