Southwestern Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

I was there one year ago recovering from a hip replacement, 20 days. First off, just like the hospital, the staff doesn't get paid enough for the childish behaviors of the senior citizens. I was immobile and arrived in the middle of a TV war between the three people across the hall. One of them loved "Family Feud" and played the TV at full volume. The other two, Merle and Barb, held a full volume chat session in front of my closed door at 6:30AM every day. I treated everyone with respect and was grateful for what they were doing for me. The two overnight nurses, Mary and Shelley, were God's own angels! The other nurses were great, but I can't remember their names. The facility was very nice. My first impression was I couldnt believe how clean everthing was. The staff was very friendly and caring to my needs and my loved one. My loved one, who was being cared for there, liked the food that was served at each mealtime and was made to feel comfortable by the staff to take care of him. If I ever need this type of care Southwestern will be my first pick.

My husband was recently in Southwestern for rehab after a long stay in the hospital. His comment about his stay was that it was the best rehab center he was ever in, and he has been to several. His PT was by far top grade. The staff was pleasant, professional and accommodating. The follow up after his release was by far more then what I expected. Thank you Southwestern for all you did for my husband and myself.

My mom had a 5 day respite stay at Southwestern. Her room was great, the best one so far of all the facilities she has spent in respite. It was clean and comfortable. It had a recliner and a tv in the room. Plenty of closet space and a welcome package with toiletries in case we forgot something. The welcome was the best too. Jess, the director of admissions, was very kind and helpful and it made me feel better about leaving my mom there while I was away.

Friendly staff from the time you walk in the door. Easy parking. Clean building. Was there visiting at dinner and food actually looked good and nice portions.
