Southern Urgent Care

Southern Urgent Care is truly a hidden gem. I’m always able to get in and out quickly, and every visit has been such a positive experience. Nurse Practitioner Allyson Bender APN is extremely knowledgeable in so many areas and takes the time to explain everything clearly. I trust her completely with my care, and I’ve even started bringing my newly adult daughter to her as her primary provider. It’s rare to find someone who is both thorough and genuinely caring, but Allison is exactly that. Nurse Tiffany is great as well! Highly recommend!

I have been here a couple of times in the past. On my last visit, I was highly disappointed. My issue is not with the front desk, because the lady is always nice and accomodating (I was there with my mother in law and someone came in in need of stitches 30 minutes after closing hour on a Tuesday evening). Mu issue is with the male Dr. whose last name starts with "S". I was hacking and miserable from some sort of bronchitis. He did an exam and found fluid in my ears and when I mentioned I had been there a few days ago with my mother in law for the same sort of bronchitis(she gave me her lol), he blew me off and said since mine may be similar to hers, he told me he will be ordering a Nasal spray with steroid plus a steroid inhaler. Will never go back. I went in to get medical clearance for an upcoming dental procedure. I understand they were understaffed, but there’s no reason to be so uncaring. The receptionist had an attitude that was very unwelcoming. The NP (Allyson) was very standoffish & made the assessment uncomfortable. I walked out of there feeling like I wasted their time. The sad thing is that I’ve experienced this in other healthcare facilities. Healthcare is not what it used to be. This saddens me.

We are residents of Surfside Beach and are grateful to have found this caring and professional team. Little wait time! Spotlessly clean! Allyson Bender listens and takes time to know her patients. The entire staff is kind. Either emergency or long term patient care is available. Thankful for this team.

I went in with stomach issues/diarrhea from what I believe was from drinking contaminated water while in South America. After a short exam the Dr just prescribed some antibiotics and was out the door, no diagnosis, no suggested diet, no time for questions, unprofessional and rude. I was prescribed two antibiotics. The next morning I googled possible interactions with the two taken together and found out they should be taken 2-4 hours apart to minimize side effects, some of which can be severe and apparently while rare life threatening, would have been great information to know before I started taking them. Reconsider your choice in healthcare!!!
