Southeast Health Emergency Department

We had an outstanding experience in the emergency department during what was a very stressful situation for our family. My four-year-old son was having respiratory issues and difficulty breathing, and he was brought back very quickly. From that moment on, every single person we encountered, nurses, physicians, and care techs, was kind, calm, and professional. Despite the understandably busy and chaotic environment of an ED, the staff did an excellent job of keeping things as calm and contained as possible, and of keeping both my son and my wife comfortable throughout the process. What stood out most was how proactive everyone was. We never had to ask for things we needed, the staff anticipated them. One nurse who was not even assigned to our son offered us a blanket while we were waiting

I went to the Southeast Health ER this past weekend and my experience was great! I was taken back and saw a doctor shortly after I was put into a room. My nurses were wonderful in making sure I was comfortable during my time. Hopefully I won't need it, but if I do, I will certainly go there for emergent care.

Highly disappointed in the nursing staff this morning, specifically the insufferable platinum blonde “nurse” during discharge. She was unprofessional, power-tripping, and lacked compassion. She completely ignored my sister's recent knee surgery requirements and I was called "belligerent" simply for insisting my sister use her wheelchair (which was previously discussed and approved by her) rather than crutches. If a rush for bed space was as urgent as they made it seem, you’d think it wouldn’t matter how she was removed. I’m not sure what she had against convenience, efficiency, or my sister’s comfort and safety. I am so thankful for the treatment my husband Rob receives at SE. He is a double lung transplant pt and had a life altering accident in 2022. Dr. Carter saved his life. He did so again in 2024 when my husband had an internal bleed in 2024. God Bless Dr. Carter. We have been for other issues and he always comforts us. I love the way the ED runs. Thank you SE Health for keeping my husband and me upright and alive.

I probably had the best first experience with an ER possible. I cut my hand with a kitchen knife down to muscle tissue that required stitches. I was in and out in less than two hours, every employee I interacted with was very polite and knowledgeable. I am lucky enough to have a job that has decent insurance, which likely brought me up in the cue. Most hospitals are run/owned by for-profit companies unfortunately. Not the staffs fault.
