Grandma has bruises they refuse to explain. Violent patients left to roam halls and “punch people”. As per staff’s warning. Her stuff is always missing. I suspect the staff contributes to missing items. Rooms are worse than jail cells. Only allowed to shower once a week with cold water. My grandma isn't a prisoner in prison. Shes a person with a disability. 😡

I toured this facility for my dad recently despite the comments, thinking surely the comments were excessive and exaggerated. THEY WERE NOT. I SEEN a Cna use force and forceful words on an elderly seemingly mentally impaired woman who was a resident. Then dragged back to the “dining room” which doubled as the activity room. I told the receptionist and was basically blown off, that gives me the impression that this probably happens more often than not. I also happened to witness what they call “Activities” they don’t seem inclusive to call residents cognition levels. I left in the middle of my tour extremely upset and rethinking the whole nursing home industry awful place to send your loved one.

My mother was a resident at South Valley Nursing Home during 2023. During her residency, the staff consistently showed my mother empathy, respect, and dignity. Because she suffered from severe mobility issues and cognitive impairment that we were unable to personally treat her at home. South Valley Nursing Home fortunately accepted Medicaid and gave her the 24/7 treatment that she required. The facility was always very clean, and the staff were authentically kind and helpful to our family. I never had to doubt that my mom’s needs were met. I observed the staff treat other residents with the same respect and dignity as they delivered to my mom. While all the staff were helpful, certain staff members deserve a special mention. So I have a relative there, If you ask me I give this hell place 0 stars. What I witnessed was horrifying. A male CNA had grabbed a patient in their bed and slammed her into her wheelchair. I did report it to the state, but was told by another employee that I as a guest can't gossip. So I'm just letting it be known that if you like your loved ones slammed around bring them here!

My family member has been a resident at South Valley Care for approximately two years plus. The staff is always friendly and willing to assist her when she needs help. During the Pandemic, Administration and Medical Staff kept the family well informed on what was going on and how your family member was doing. They never have an attitude when I have to call with questions about an issue. Before restrictions were implemented due to changes during and after the pandemic. I use to visit my family member randomly and have never encountered any issues that would cause concern. If I could reward each staff member for their care, concern, and dedication to the residents I would gladly do so.
