We adopted 2 puppies. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the pups had some health issues and they wouldn't let us adopt him until he was completely cleared by the vet. I appreciate their being forthright about the situation and the care they provided the puppy. Really great experience.

Tried to adopt a dog though them but I guess they aren't interested in saving dogs and sending a doggie to a good home! Filled out application and never got a response. I was interested in 3 of their puppies but oh well. Went to Hall County Animal Rescue and walked in and out with our new baby!

I have adopted from here and they are the best around! The volunteers really care about the animals and where they end up! They weren't just throwing any dog or cat at you so that you adopt one. You can tell that they take fostering the rescues seriously and have great knowledge on the dog/cats temperament and what home it would be best suited for. I will always adopt from them in the future!!

Dennis and Joanne are the greatest. The sacrifice everything to help orphaned dogs and cats. The greatest they've done is they got with Gwinnett county sheriff Butch Conway and started operation second chance also known as the jail dogs program. This is where they partner rescue dogs with non violent inmates in jail. The foods get trained, the inmates learn a life lesson and it's too off donations and doesn't cost the taxpayers a penny!

Something isn’t right at the Society of Humane Friends of Georgia, and I’m not the only one who feels this way. If you take a few minutes to look through their Google reviews, you’ll see a pattern of people expressing similar concerns about favoritism, bias, and a lack of professionalism. It’s deeply troubling that a rescue organization—one that should be focused on finding the best homes for animals—seems to limit adoptions in ways that don’t feel inclusive or fair. Another red flag? Many of the people they do approve for adoption don’t seem like ideal matches for active, high-needs animals. I’ve seen several placements go to elderly individuals or people who clearly struggle with their own physical health. While everyone deserves companionship, the well-being of the animal should come
