Sistersville General Hospital

We recently located here from out of state, and this hospital is about an equal distance from us as Reynolds. It is very small, but the medical staff seem very kind and very competent. I have been here twice with a family member and once to be tested for the flu and have always received quick and adequate care. I’m not sure I would go to this hospital if it were a true matter of life and death, unless I were just looking for a way to get to a larger facility, but for advanced treatment a step above a standard urgent care facility. It’s perfectly adequate and the new hospital should be excellent.

Okay so around march I came to this hospital in complete psychosis and was looking to get admitted. These nurses completely traumatized me to the max. They kept coming in and out of my room laughing at me. A Janitor walked in to my room yes a JANITOR and said the words to me “oh my god wetzel killed her somebody clean up the blood” you might think that’s funny but my question is how did this JANITOR know that I was ever in wetzel. What kind of information was being released about me to the people in this hospital. (That is a violation of hippa) And what on earth does it make it okay to come in a patients room and do that. I have Skitsoeffective disorder and I was on the verge of taking my own life in complete psychosis and all these nurses did was laugh make fun of me and locked me in the

I have taken my son to the ER here twice, and they were very efficient at getting us in and out, even with needing x-rays. I had an appointment here with the radiology department, and they got me checked in and examined and out the door, and the radiology staff was very friendly. Sometimes you go to the doctor and feel like they are making you wait for no reason-that hasn't been my experience here.

I wanted to thank everyone from registration, nurses and ER. Dr. Smith. The staff at Sistersville General seemed very friendly efficient and extremely helpful. Dr. Smith was able to assist with my issue and gave me a great referral very quickly. Small town hospital maybe but a very professional and proficient one. We are thankful to have you guys.

This is one of the worst hospitals I've ever been to. We chose to go here instead of Wetzel County Hospital hoping to receive better care, but that couldn't be further from the truth! They turned away a patient who was suffering from pancreatitis without doing proper testing. They not only forced him to leave, but had police waiting to arrest him if he didn't comply. I makes me sad that people in this community have nowhere to turn for proper healthcare. He is still suffering from pancreatitis and has been in bed for 2 days with no treatment and nowhere to turn. The hospital staff could care less, and the fact that he has children at home depending on his health means nothing to them. I wouldn't recommend a hospital with a staff that doesn't value people's lives. This is outrageous!
