Would give zero stars if I could. I came here because I was suffering from a viral infection that was affecting my asthma and ability to breathe. I waited 4 hours for a nebulizer treatment I never received and thats including a 50 minute wait for discharge papers I never received because I lost my patience trying to get help and saught help elsewhere. I'm appalled by the fact that they had me waiting for help when I am having trouble breathing. Let me not get started on the unsanitary conditions. If you need emergency care for your loved ones or yourself, PLEASE look for it at another of the numerous hospitals in the city. Im praying for you
I've been to this ER a couple of times. The wait time is not long compared to other ERs. I like how they see you based on symptoms and not in order you arrive. I will say the waiting area is dirty, but the nurses and staff I have been attended by during my visits are professional and compassionate.
The staff well some are nice a respectful. But the wait time is horrible especially in chronic pain. The ER waiting area smells like it haven't been cleaned in a long time. As if some urine all over the place sitting and waiting is unbearable. Going in sick seem as if you will leave sicker. But the 3 stars is the care team not the overall facility. Custodian and and timing takes away a star a piece.
This is a Level One Trauma Center, in an inner city West Side Hospital. It serves an indigent, impoverished population of minorities including a large number of undocumented folks. Almost by definition visits here are crisis-driven, episodic. I was treated here. More than once. I often waited. But I expect that. It's about triage. Treating the most ill whose life is endangered first. That does not mean the most in pain. They don't mean the same. I knew the staff here. Trusted them. I was not disappointed. Care gets tricky when CPD is needed to intervene with rival gang or family members of multiple gun shot wound victims. Or family members act out and need help not letting their grief or attitude hurt someone else. Add those folks whose care is fragmented; seek help only when something goe
Horrible experience, had me waiting for hours just so they can charge me money knowing they didn't have an ophthalmologist on site.
