To give some background, I had been a patient of Dr. Schactner’s for over 10 years. I had a concerning experience with Dr. Schactner when I was about 36 weeks pregnant. During this one particular session, my concerns were not fully heard or accurately represented. Despite not being a danger to myself or my child, she strongly pushed for extensive medication changes based on what seemed to be her personal fears rather than my clinical representation. I feel that caution and patient safety are important, but her recommendations were excessive and not appropriately individualized. I ultimately sought a second opinion and received a very different, more balanced assessment. Absolutely phenomenal. Dr. Schacter is extremely thorough and cares about her patients. It was eye-opening to see the difference between her patient care compared to our previous psychiatrist.

The best! She treats the whole person, not the disease. Very knowledgeable and professional! She is up to date on current therapeutic processes and medicine. Includes patient on treatment plan and addresses all questions thoroughly.
