Unfortunately, his condition only got worse there, and he developed a Stage IV pressure sore with osteomyelitis and serious complications. On December 12, we were admitted to Silver Lake Hospital in very serious condition with a deep wound, multiple complications, and a tracheostomy. I’m from South New Jersey, and after doing a tremendous amount of research, we determined that the best way for my niece to truly get help was through the dual diagnosis program at Silver Lake Hospital. I have had custody of my niece since she was young after her parents passed away, and we have been struggling with her disease for years. Finding the right program felt overwhelming, but after speaking with the admissions department it just felt right. When she was admitted, she was taking 250mg of methadone daily; and within the two months she was there they were able to wean her down to 40mg. Complaint filed at Silver Lake Hospital: To: Silver Lake Hospital I witnessed my friend ****** who was pinned down by the part time police officer of Hackettstown&works as a “security guard” at your facility. The night this incident occurred, the security guard got into a fight with a man on another unit and got beat down by a man he attempted to attack. I have witnessed a death on the unit I started on here on the security monitors. The morning M**t died under the care of these employees who did not follow proper protocols and procedures in a hospital. This gave me and the others who experienced this with me trauma.
