Signature HealthCARE of Norfolk

This place I have no words so far to express my up most concern. Its going on day 3 now that my mother has not received dinner. She isn't receiving any help with simple things such as turning on a fan due the room being kept so hot. The bathroom in her room also looks so ran down and her room is very outdated. If you look at the pictures on the website please believe me when I say its a bold face lie. The pictures make the place look nice and welcoming and its far from the truth. Staff also hasn't been helpful at all with information. In my opinion the staff do the bare minimum to even say they are doing their jobs. I honestly don't understand how the place is getting any good feedback. I know i will be making a formal report and calling adult protective services on them.

Horrible Facility. This facility is in extremely poor condition. The entire building stinks of urine, and staff frequently cuss at patients and is very disrespectful to them. Patients are not assisted with bathroom needs in a timely way and are often left in soiled adult briefs for hours before being changed. The overall staff conduct reflects a serious lack of professionalism, experience, and compassion. Immediate review and corrective action are needed to ensure residents receive appropriate and dignified care.

I found my stay at this facility to be great everyone understood your reason for being here and treated me with the up most respect. I had a amazing experience in therapy and they didn't push me to the point of more pain. I would recommend people to be placed here. They offer daily activities for the patients and does not force you to participate and on Fridays we all get together and workout including the staff.

The thoughtfulness of this team is wonderful. I never felt like just a number when I was there. I even got real time to speak with Kelli, the Administrator. She was really nice and made sure my questions were answered. I'd also like to give a special thank you to Nurse Regina, Nurse TC, and social workers Marilyn and LaToya. They have all been so accommodating and caring. What a team!

I was extremely surprised and happy as I was nervous coming here because of its rating and where my insurance would allow me to go. Honestly, I’m surprised the rating isn’t higher. The first person I met was so supportive and welcoming and a week in everything keeps getting better. Yes, I am on a floor with long term residents but all the staff are encouraging me to keep working hard so I can get back home. I couldn’t ask for more from the physical, occupational and speech therapists. I feel like I’m an active participant in my recovery journey through its ups and occasional downs. Looking forward to my progress over the next two weeks and working with the people that are making it happen.
