I used to speak so highly of Sibley’s ER, often saying that I would travel the 30 mins it takes to get here just for the level of care they give. Well, that has all changed with one ER visit. I’ve been to their ER before and had one of the most pleasurable experiences than I’ve ever had ant any other hospital. They were fast, courteous and thorough. While my check-in was swift, getting seen took forever. I’ve now been sitting in a room, in a gown for almost two hours. No one has checked in on me or given me any updates. Lots of irate people coming in disturbing others that was waiting. I was supposed to get an Iv but so far all I have is the tube stuck in my arm with nothing. I finally hit the button for a nurse to check on the status of being seen and to tell her that the Iv prep was sta
June 2025 visit to the breast imaging department. , I visited the breast imaging department at Sibley Memorial Hospital for a mammogram because of breast tenderness. While nothing was found medically, my concern was the patient care experience. I felt ignored during the visit and communication from staff was very limited. I also emailed the hospital weeks ago about my experience and did not receive a response. Patients dealing with health concerns deserve clear communication and attentive care. I hope this feedback helps improve the patient experience.
I want to start by saying that the nurse who checked me in and took my vitals was excellent. He was kind, patient, and actually listened to me despite how confused and uncomfortable I was feeling. That part of my experience was positive. Unfortunately, everything after that was extremely disappointing. When I was seen by the nurse practitioner, I felt rushed, dismissed, and unheard. She appeared to have a very short fuse and did not take the time to listen to my symptoms or concerns. I explained that I was having severe abdominal pain, mucus in my stool, diarrhea, and worsening symptoms, but this did not seem to be taken seriously. After blood work, I waited about three hours only to be told that I “just had a UTI” and was sent home. I never saw a physician — only the nurse practitioner
The environment here is very good. Every staff member is very enthusiastic and patient. My little baby was born here. I am very happy to meet the professional team here. Although there will not be too many such experiences in life, but With such a small chance that you can meet such a good team, it means that the staff here are of a standard at all times! My wife has always been in the maternity department at Georgetown University Hospital, but at that time there was an emergency, there were no beds there, so I was forced to transfer here, so we were not familiar with this place from the beginning, but the quality of medical care here is still impressive. I am very satisfied and amazed! Thank you to all the medical staff who serve us, as well as our chief surgeon, Dr. Green!
I had an extremely inhumane experience at this hospital’s emergency room on 1/2. I was in excruciating pain from what I now know was a kidney stone combined with a serious infection. My husband had always spoken highly of this hospital, and based on that reputation, he drove me 35 minutes to receive what we believed would be the best care. Instead, I was treated worse than an animal. I waited 4–5 hours just to be seen. During that time, I was taken back twice for blood draws and a third time for a scan, during which I was given something that made my pain ten times worse. I was on my knees on the floor, crying and pleading for pain medication, and the nurse refused and sent me back to the waiting room. Each time I went back for blood draws, I could hear doctors laughing with patients and
