I have been a patient of Dr. Patel for years. He always has time to see me if I need a appointment that day. He draws the blood tests and sends them off, then calls you with the results. I appreciate his thoughtful and caring nature. He is soft spoken and I have hearing aids so we do repeat ourselves. His office staff is always polite and helpful. He does see me every three months but can be shorter if my blood pressure is not where he wants it. He likes to catch problems before they become big! Some days I have to wait a bit for my appointment but that is because he takes anyone that needs him that day. He also offers evening and Saturday morning appointments. Been going to him since he arrived in Hernando years ago. He’s money hungry and wants to see you for every ailment. If you go in there with a runny nose then don’t even mention you have an ear ache because that’s another appointment and another insurance claim for him. He won’t renew my prescription for fish oil even though he recommended it to me because he wants to see me yet again. The fish oil can be bought over the counter but my insurance will pay for it so it is cheaper for me. However if I have to go to him every time I need a bottle of it then it’s more expensive then just buying it. He wants you to follow his advice only if it benefits him monetarily. This is an example of a physician who should not only reported to the AMA, but Medicare, as well. I had two office visits with him and both times he not only talked right over me, but rushed me out, not even discussing my medications, as to what I was taking, nor giving me any perscriptions for them. I have Medicare, and my co-pay with all of my other physicians past and present, has never gone over 20.00 to 30.00 per visit. I've never had a injection so beautifully done than with Dr. Patel! I'm usually a little anxious or nervous about getting shots, but every time I've had an injection by Dr. Patel, I'm usually surprised that it's already over because I never felt it! He's thorough and gentle, exactly what you need for someone anxious to see the doctor!

Had an appointment to day at 9:00. The receptionist told me that the doctor is not here and I have to wait 30 minutes for him to arrive. I told her That I can't wait. she very roodly told me that the doctor will not renew my meds with out seeing me. I told her if the doctor doesn't want to refill my meds I will find another doctor and I walked out.
