Shirlington Dental

Was seen here twice. If you can even call it that. The first time the assistant gave up trying to get my x rays done because I am not an easy candidate with dental anxiety and a super tiny mouth. She had the doctor take an x ray which was fine except he did a poor job. Totally rushed it. Said the tooth was fine even though part of it literally decayed out. Said it wasn’t deep so I didn’t have to use Novocain. I went back for the filling got taken to the back relatively quickly but then got completely forgotten about for 45 minutes. No one checked in with me even after I expressed I was anxious and the assistant shrugged it off. I understand things happen and stuff takes time but it was very clear I was being ignored. I recently moved to the area and had an absolutely terrible experience with another dentist. I came to Shirlington Dental for a second opinion after a recommendation from a colleague (the other dentist said I had six cavities that needed work even though I have no history of that level of problem). Dr. Sisel took time to look over the scans, explain what he was seeing (and what he thought the other dentist likely was seeing) and walk me through what he thought was needed, which turned out to be no work, and if anything just watching the few small spots. I so appreciated the transparency and honesty - I've found a new dentist, for sure!

Fantastic and painless, I requested Dr. Sisel perform my filling without local anesthesia. Not only did he let me, but he performed it with absolutely no pain! Highly recommend as your new dental provider!

The quality of their work is beyond compare. You don't need to go anywhere else. You know how I was referred in? A retired dentist friend goes there for his dental work. When you're referred to a dentist by a dentist, it's a good start. Friendly staff, most of whom have been with the team for YEARS, you're not working with someone whom you're paying while they learn on your teeth. Good honest team. I had gone to another dentist who told me I needed all kinds of work that was very expensive, I went to my retired dentist friend and asked his opinion, he said it seemed aggressive, referred me to Dr. Sisel; Dr. Sisel recommended a far less expensive treatment plan and has done excellent work. This is an excellent dentist's office! The staff is very professional and kind. There is free parking. It's very easy to get to. The view from their office is great. The office building looks new and modern. I highly recommend Shirlington Dental!
