New to the area, I was referred to Dr. Straughn by another physician for a rash on my face and a growth on the underside of my jaw. My appointment was March 26, 2024. It was my first time meeting her. The office staff was amazing; however, Dr. Straughn was not. She was rude, crude and more. After reading reviews from other patients, Dr. Straughn's rudeness seems to be consistent. We cannot ALL be wrong... I genuinely believe that as patients, we partner with our medical professionals in the furtherance of our medical care. She showed great disdain for me asking questions. I was really concerned about the growth on my jaw given that both of my parents had cancer. When I asked if there was a possibility of the growth being cancerous, she stopped, glared at me, and stated emphatically, "eit

Let me start by saying that the front office staff is amazing and each time I go, it is an absolute pleasure. They are extremely knowledgeable, professional, personable, and efficient. I have struggled with a rash on my back that has come and gone for YEARS! I have seen 3 other dermatologists previously about this same condition. Dr Straughn was the first to even bother to do a culture. We talked in detail about what I had been prescribed before and she scheduled me for labs to see if I had any underlying issues that may contribute to my condition. Happily, I can say the rash has cleared and I am thrilled with the results. I will continue to see Dr Straughn for any future dermatological needs I may have.

I have been a patient of Dr. Straughn for several years. Her staff has always been very cordial to me. I strive to have a positive attitude when I visit any place of business; especially a healthcare office. They are first responders here to treat and heal our issues. They face people from different walks of life. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. Much appreciation for taking good care of me.

I believe that Dr. Straughn is extremely knowledgeable of dermatological concerns and is competent. However, her bedside manner is questionable, whenever I have been in the office she spends no more than a few seconds inspecting my skin and spends most of the time talking at you. In addition, her staff are nice; however, should not be the ones to interpret any lab results as they unfortunately do not have that level of expertise it should be the doctor. I wouldn't recommend.

I called on Monday to see if I could be seen and was booked for Tuesday morning. The experience was so pleasant from the receptionist on the phone all the way to being check out. The Dr does move rather quickly but she is efficient and informative which I appreciate. The office is cute and quaint, good music, snacks, and they even give out samples. She was able to immediately tell me what was wrong, the plan of care, an expected timeline and when to follow up. I will definitely return for any future skin needs.
