My husband was transferred to this facility just yesterday afternoon. 7/26/2024 And it was not even 24 hours and this morning I received a phone call at 4:25 am this morning informing me that my husband had fallen out of bed. They claim that he was okay. I insisted that he be sent out to the hospital for proper evaluation. And it turns out he has pneumonia. But again they are the ones that called themselves doing a proper evaluation on him and said that he was okay. This place is dirty ,nasty, filthy and smells so bad. When I came in the front door on the first floor yesterday it was dirty and smelled like an outhouse. This place needs to be condemned. They ought to be ashamed to call themselves a skilled nursing facility. In my husband's room there is dirt and dead bugs laying in the
Im there now to prevent falls. I come from a medical background and have seen some things in my career. But never like this Ask the RN for cream for my “cold coffee”.They don’t have any. Asked for ice water. They don’t have any. Asked for a ginger ale. They don’t have any. What do they have? Compassionate RNs. Aides that busy hiding in the stairwell using their phones. Go somewhere else. The facility does not have the means or staffing to care for anyone. Place is filthy. Surface doesn’t look too bad. But trust me if and when I can break out of here, I’m burning everything I wore in here. Even shoes. My name for this place: Nursing Home Nightmare When will I get home? Not soon enough.
My mother was placed here for skilled nursing. Her room was filthy, the elevators stank of urine and the stench only increased upon exiting on her floor. We ended up fighting to remove her from the facility due to the conditions and the state of her care. Regarding her care, the staff seemed either overworked, undertrained or potentially both. Due to the nature of my mom’s disease she had been in SNFs twice before and both times were really positive experiences. We were ignorant to how truly awful a facility could be before she was placed at Shadyside Nursing and Rehab. My mom was left to poo on herself and then left unchanged for 45 minutes. She became extremely anxious and scared staying in the facility requesting that family stay with her almost 24/7. My siblings made daily night tim
If I could give this place a -100 I would. The women whom work the front desk were the sweetest, But once you get past that it goes down hill. My Mom was there a very long 5 days after her insurance forced her there. She was put on the 2nd floor where from the moment you got off the elevator smelt like an old urinal that hadn’t been flushed in years. The rooms are filthy! They don’t care about the privacy of their residents while changing them, I walked in to my Mom being changed and the aide never pulled the privacy curtain between her and her room mate. He threw my Moms dirty brief across the room infront of the other resident. Then proceeded to wipe the floor with a blanket when exiting the room. Call bells being ignored for extended periods of time. Several times my Mom rang to have he
I lived there from Feb.-Aug of 2023, and being a former nurse aid myself, I don't think it's too bad. I'd give it a 'B'. The 1 complaint I do have is the food. It was not good and you were always hungry..they didn't give you enough. But my overall experience was very good. The staff were friendly and in general alwpays positive. I would suggest that you supplement the food off your loved one, visit them at least once a week and sshower them yourself. I Remember one nurse in particular, Chris. He checked me in in Feb and he checked me out in August. He was a very friendly and professional . Bill Samuels
