Sentara Martha Jefferson - Emergency Department

Called back bc I had questions regarding my lab result and failure of the drug I was prescribed but I was told by Aubrey who answered the phone that Dr. Circh or no Dr. made phone calls which is a problem. If a patient had followup questions about their care, they should not have to incur further charges to be seen again once they have already been charged. I would have to go back into the ER to be seen again to ask questions.. Warning. Dont waste your time and money going to this ER‼️ Apparently Dr. Circh has performed poorly for years now according to reviews, yet he is still there. MJH never corrected their mistakes even after patient complaints.

I brought my wife in tonight , in obvious distress, experiencing a cardiac event. We were stopped at the entrance and thoroughly searched. She had to wait in the door while i ran my pocketknife back to the car. I have never seen or even heard of this level of security screening to get inside an ER waiting room Shame on you Sentara. Better than 1 star because the staff was amazing. To be clear, I'm not blaming the security personnel for this. The gentleman was professional and courteous.

My sister was taken by ambulance to Sentara Forest Lakes on February 6 due to severe pain. When I arrived, I witnessed Dr. Ian questioning her about whether she had taken drugs, even though she repeatedly said she had not and was asking for help. She later told me that before I arrived, multiple staff members had already questioned her about drug use. Instead of being treated with compassion, she was judged and dismissed based on assumptions. Nurse Audrey accused her of being on drugs and spoke about her openly in front of others. Nurse Gabe was also rude and treated her as though she was less than. Gabe was also extremely rude to me as well. At one point, my sister had to go to the doorway to look for help because no one was responding, and she was told to “stop acting like that” instea

Horrible. Employees had plenty of time to stand around having personal conversations but weren't tending to patients. I came in for an x-ray. The discharge nurse came in and discharged me, but no doctor ever showed up to talk about my radiology results. They better not try to charge me for the doctor reading my chart because he didn't! I left because I was already in pain...I'd rather go home than sit there listening to them badmouthing EMTs and talking about their flight travels. I went here because it was convenient and I just needed an x-ray...but I won't ever come back. I'd rather wait longer at UVa and get better care.

Everyone was so kind and I did not have to wait long. They were able to find out what was wrong with me and switched me to another facility very fast! Thank you all so much!
