Sentara Leigh Hospital

My second and third c section took place at Slh and the overall experience was great. My most recent visit on 1/20 was absolutely fantastic! 10/10 great nurses both day and definitely night shift! Dr McDowell and Dr holland are wonderful! Nurse Stacy I had twice during my stay and she was phenomenal !! Nurse lovely took her time inserting my IVs! Steve my anesthetist was reassuring throughout my surgery! I really dreaded the spinal anesthesia but he was careful and patient it was actually pleasant! So overall thank you to everyone in labor and delivery!

Brought my wife in and was brought to a room quickly. Excellent care but was there a long wait for a relatively simple procedure. However while in room 26 in ER about 7 pm there was a group of 3 workers at a desk wearing brown scrubs. I wanted for more than 5 hours while they did absolutely nothing other than play on phones and try to set up dates with each other!! What the hell are patients paying for??

The 5th floor staff (gastroenterology) could not have been nicer, more efficient, sweeter, professional, and accommodating than they were. I felt very cared for and enjoyed interacting with each of them. They are professional and efficient, but so personable, friendly and solicitous. I felt very cared about and well taken care of while there.

Both of my children were born here and I can’t say enough about the staff. They’re amazing, kind, sweet and they know how to do their job well. If anyone is thinking about having children and giving birth, I would choose this hospital out of all of Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake. The staff truly care About the people they’re taking care of and it shows and I Don’t have the words to truly tell you, how amazing This place really is. It’s a blessing.

I came in for laryngitis last Thursday after having seen my Dr., and ended up in the ER with a crushed spine and a broken leg. WOW!! If I had waited, goodness knows how this would have ended. Today is the Wednesday after and being released today. A lot of recovering to do, but I'm sure my recovery will be swift. As for the nursing, food and overall care, if on a scale of one to 10, it would be plus 10. All the staff treated me like I was checking into a fancy Hotel. Nothing but smiles and reaffirming me that I was doing great. I will recommend Norfolk General to all who asks. A VERY Satisfying experience.....Thank you Norfolk, I Love you All!!!
