Select Specialty Hospital - Tulsa

Our family cannot say enough amazing things about Select Specialty Hospital Tulsa. My nana has been here since January 20th, and the care she has received has truly been life changing. She arrived after being on a ventilator at a previous hospital and had to be re-vented within 24 hours due to dangerously high CO2 levels. The team here acted quickly and confidently. She spent about two weeks on the ventilator before being transitioned to a tracheostomy. Even then, she was only on the vent through the trach for three days before they began successfully weaning her off. They worked diligently and got her completely off the ventilator, the trach, and even the BiPAP machine. They also stabilized her CO2 back into a normal range. This facility was amazing with my mom! After being in a major Tulsa hospital for over 1 month, she was transferred to Select and in less than a weeks time she progressed so much! She went from not being able to eat or essentially move to eating almost a regular diet, sitting in a chair for a few hours a day and moving body parts that were weak. The staff is great, they are friendly and very attentive to their patients. Highly recommended Select Specialty for any family!

The staff was great. They always had a smile and were accommodating in any way that I needed. When I came into the hospital, I could barely get out of bed and walk by the time I left, I was walking down the hallways and back using a walker.I especially like the fact that they encouraged me to start being self-sufficient, taking care of myself. Our adult daughter was diagnosed with a severe case of Guillain-Barre Syndrome. She spent a month in the ICU at St. Francis on a ventilator. When she was released, we made the decision to transfer her to Select Specialty Hospital at the OSU Medical Center - and we could not have made a better choice. My son was critically ill and Select was his 4th hospital in 53 days. He came to Select with a tracheotomy 3 day old. He had not been on his feet this entire time. He has pulmonary hypertension and a heart patient. The nurse were very friendly and made us feel at ease. They all answered the call light promptly. The techs were very polite and made us feel at ease, even when the bed pan was involved. Our room was always kept clean. The Dr came by every morning and explained everything going on and asked if we had any questions. We did not have one complaint during our stay. We highly recommend Select.
