Do not send your loved ones here! Although the nurses and therapists are very kind and treated our family member to great care, the doctors and admin seem to only be here for the biggest payday possible. Doctors would pop-in for 30 seconds and move on without even interacting with the patient. Admin were resistant to anything we wanted done to support our family member patient. There was no effort spent on trying to get our loved one off of their trach like we were told this hospital could help with. They refused our request to transfer them even though they also seemed unwilling to help them get better. Total money grab. We got much better care for the patient at another specialty hospital.
0 stars; I had to give at least 1 to be able to post here! The nurses are great (most of them); however the Director along with the case workers and administration are subpar! Talking to a doctor is nearly impossible, unless you happen to be present during their rounds, which usually occur before visiting hours. You can request a call from the doctors over and over with no response! I am shocked there are not significant negligence lawsuits against this facility! They are currently attempting to discharge my mother immediately after trach removal / decannulation to a facility that is not equipped to handle possible post-decannulation complications. Furthermore, this facility has been telling me for several weeks that a swallow test would be performed before her discharge, which has yet to
This facility is, to put it simply, a piece of garbage. The call button for patients are often broken, the environment is so loud and a lot of the providers are loud, unprofessional and chat way too much when around sick people. The worst of it though is Dana, the nurse practitioner. She was extremely unprofessional and does not know how to control her temper at all. She deals with elderly patients’ family members with so much disregard and an utter lack of compassion. Beware if you get her as a provider, you should probably request a different NP! Part of being a healthcare provider is knowing how to speak to people with basic respect, she doesn’t know how to do that. On top of that, she, and many others at the facility lack good medical judgement. There’s a reason she’s probably there,
I can't generalized the health care as some health care staff were excellent as others didn't even show up their faces in the room for hours. As far as the administrative staff, I am far beyond frustrated and disappointed. I do not have any traits to rate them. Instead, I strongly believe what makes this facility the worst is the poor communication with the family member/caregivers, the poor assessment related to the patient's needs, prognosis, and care plan and the most disgusting one to my taste is the rush they have to discharge a patient no matter the circumstances due to their poor interest of dealing with health insurance and finding other facilities to place the patient properly. Sometimes I feel that showing up as a dedicated mother made it worst for my daughter's case as they deci
I’m a nurse, and I have to say the nurses there are on a completely different level—and not in a good way. When a family member explains that a patient has a history of cancer, that information should be taken seriously, not dismissed with “we don’t give information, talk to the doctor.” As nurses, it is part of our role to communicate relevant information to the physician. That’s basic nursing communication and patient advocacy. I am a family member, not an outsider. The interaction was unprofessional.
