Select Specialty Hospital - Gainesville

I want to give thanks to Jim Waldrip at Select Specialty Hospital. As the assigned caseworker on my brother's case, he has gone above and beyond for our family. Living far away, I was even able to video chat with my brother because Jim made it happen; and that meant more than words can say. We have faced a large obstacle getting approval for rehab and he has stepped in with guidance to help me get through this process. I am grateful for all he has done and know they are still good people in the world, and he is one of them!

Director Jim Waldrip made our transition to this LTAC facility seamless. Living more than two hours from Gainesville, I was concerned about how the process would unfold, but Jim went above and beyond to ensure every question and need was addressed promptly. From the moment my brother’s transfer to Select Specialty Hospital was approved, Jim remained consistently available and supportive. Once my brother was admitted, Jim maintained ongoing communication with me, providing daily updates, photos, and videos that offered great comfort when I was unable to visit in person. His dedication far exceeded what I have experienced from medical staff at other facilities, and his efforts contributed greatly to my brother’s positive experience at Select Gainesville. Our family had an exceptional experience at Select Specialty Hospital. From the very beginning, Jim met with us before my mom was admitted and continued to check in on her throughout her stay. He made sure all of our questions were answered and that every one of her needs was met. The nursing team—Michael, Emma, Tania, Olufemi, Joseph, and the H.S. Staff Kelly, Raymond, and Leonora—went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and at ease (not an easy task😉). Still, they handled everything with such compassion and professionalism. He Texted me every day..sent me videos of my husband's progress,when I couldn't make it to see him..he was a godsend to my family and I... If you truly want to understand our experience, speak with your own staff—they are well aware of what took place and many were ashamed. Your facility appears to be managed with revenue as the priority over patient care. Every step seemed designed to delay my husband’s discharge and bill another day. Thank God I had the resources and knowledge to push back against your standard operating procedures.
