Select Specialty Hospital - Belhaven

My mom was transferred from a rural Delta hospital to a hospital in Jackson after she was diagnosed as having CDiff. We were at a hospital in Jackson until her white blood cell count was normal. At that point my mother was not well enough to go home. She was very weak and unable to sit up or stand. We were referred to Select. Once she was transferred, the nurses and therapist started working with my mother. Slowly but surely she has begun to regain her strength. The therapist are in every week day and have been celebrating with me the accomplishments my mother has made. We are on our way back home in a day or two and I am so happy with the progress mom has made since she has been here.

I can’t say enough about the exceptional care my grandmother received at Select Specialty Hospital. From the moment we arrived, every staff member went above and beyond to make sure she was cared for and that our family felt supported. I want to give special recognition to some of the amazing team members who made such a difference in her journey: Ms. Kim, her speech therapist, who showed incredible patience and encouragement. Ms. Margie, her occupational therapist, whose dedication and compassion helped her make meaningful progress. Ms. Marlissa, her physical therapist, who pushed her while always making sure she felt safe and supported. Sydney, Ms. Jill and John, her respiratory therapists, were attentive caring and hilarious really provided comfort on those challenging days. The

They have a wonderful team of therapy staff at this facility. They push, motivate and inspire you and make you feel like you can do it. The nursing staff were a hit and miss from time to time. But the care was definitely good for a 6 month stay. I will truly miss the staff as they became family. But glad to be leaving today on my way to Methodist Rehab so I can go home to my babies.

I had an exceptional therapy experience at Select. The physical, occupational and speech therapy went above and beyond to help me. The rest of the staff including wound care, respiratory and nursing did a great job! I would highly recommend them.
