Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

After being abruptly evicted from her apartment, due to no fault of her own, we needed a place for my 92 year old mom. Thanks to Kathy in administration for helping me navigate all of the “things”. She referred me to a wonderful advocate who was instrumental in helping us through the Mass Health System. It was a huge transition for mom and me. Joe Schjetne, the charge nurse for her floor, was amazing! He guided, soothed and listened to mom and me. He encouraged mom to speak up for herself, and to join in activities. Im going to miss Joe!!!!!! Gigi, activities director is amazing too!!! Her and her staff really know how to get people engaged. Mom is terribly disappointed with the good, but we try to supplement the best we can.

Staff is professional and above all, kind and caring. This care and kindness extends not only to residents, but to those who are responsible for residents (I am POA and HP for a resident who is a longtime friend). I could not be more grateful to the wonderful staff at Seacoast as they guide my friend/resident and myself on this journey.

On Red Sox opening day, 4/4/25,my mother was admitted to Seacoast Nursing and Rehab Center. A volunteer group, Friends of Seacoast, sponsored a Red Sox opening day party, and I immediately saw that many people make the residents of Seacoast feel welcome and supported as part of the Gloucester community.Later during the month we relaxed in a beautiful on site garden with its own goldfish pond. Anyone would agree that this volunteer creation is a beautiful space. Thankfully, Kathleen Jones Menesale, director of Admissions and Marketing helped us every step of the way. It took us over a month to pull together all the moving parts:hospitals, rehab, a flight to Massachusetts while caring for her Covid and injuries, and the emotions of leaving her Florida home. I literally cannot say Better things about Seacoast. They have treated for my 91 year old mother with love, respect and tenderness. I am eternally grateful for the heroes at Seacoast. This has been an immense generosity for my mother, me and my family. THANK YOU!!

Food is terrible, not hospital terrible, like a human being shouldn’t be eating it, terrible. The place is disgusting, there’s dust balls rolling around on the floor everywhere and it looks like they haven’t had anyone truly clean that place since it opened. Wallpaper is ripping off the walls in the bathrooms. A lot of great CNAs but a lot of them have horrible attitudes. One of them told me they’re short staffed and overworked because a lot of the CNAs don’t show up and call out all the time and management won’t fire anyone for attendance. Especially on weekends, I asked who comes in to help and she said no one, they’re just expected to double their amount of patients. When there were only 2 CNAs during evening shift, patients were waiting forever for help with bells ringing, even when I
