Scandinavian Communities Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing

When my home started to become unsafe for my mother we made the decision to move her into assisted living. We wanted a place where she wouldn't feel overwhelmed by the size of the facility. We visited a few places that had been recommended to us and found Scandinavian Home to have the warm, cozy feel we were hoping for. The staff is more like extended family while still maintaining their professionalism. They are attentive and caring and inform me promptly if she has any issues. She's been there for over a year now and she still says she feels like a queen because her every need is taken care of. She's made friends and enjoys participating in some of the many activities. They hold beautiful celebrations for the residents and their families to come and enjoy their hospitality. Sometimes

The Scandinavian Nursing Home's recent downsizing is a clear indicator of the facility's inability to fulfill its duties. Last year, my uncle was hospitalized due to low blood pressure from dehydration, a preventable situation within the facility's care. Tonight, my family was informed that my uncle fell out of his bed. Initially, we were told he fell from his bed, then later their story switched up and said that he fell from his wheelchair. The blatant lies and inconsistency in their communication are deeply concerning and point to neglectful practices. It's infuriating to keep seeing my uncle in the hospital; This pattern is unacceptable. I strongly urge others to reconsider entrusting their loved ones to this facility.

Mom has been in 6 or 7 short term rehabs in the last year, and Scandinavian Home is always our first choice if it's available. The level of care and the cleanliness of the facility far surpasses any other rehab she's been in. The staff are fantastic!

It's just great and they care.
