San Diego Optimum Compounding Pharmacy

I switched to this pharmacy from one I'd been using for 8 years simply because I thought it would be more convenient. Never did it occur to me that not all pharmacies are the same. I mean, a prescription is a prescription, right? Surely there are guidelines, safety measures, precautions, regulations, licensing requirements, laws, etc. to protect a consumer within a medical establishment, right? In all the years I was with my former pharmacy, I never once had a single problem with anything. In fact, they always went above and beyond and were always very professional. I also had no reason whatsoever not to trust them with my health and well-being - my life. It’s about 7 years that I’ve been getting my prescriptions from them and I always have an outstanding experience with this pharmacy! They’re incredibly convenient, and their staff is always friendly and responsive. They answer calls right away and fill my prescriptions on time every single time. I couldn’t be happier with their service

Ok, so I'll start with saying that there have been several reviews complaining that this pharmacy doesn't answer the phones quickly. An independent pharmacy is a tricky balancing act. On one hand there is all of that pharmaceutical knowledge that the public expects from you and on the other hand there is the "running a business" aspect. And sometimes the two collide. Sometimes, the business aspect can be overwhelming and simple things like answering phones quickly or returning messages can be overshadowed by JUST BEING TOO BUSY. Let's all remember that the independent pharmacy chose to remain open while the rest of the country were locked down during Covid. Let's try to remember while pharmacy empolyees' children were at home learning via a computer monitor, parents were CHOOSING to go to

***Grateful beyond words!*** I’m so thankful for the outstanding care and professionalism shown by Pharmacist Maii and Technicians Valerie and Laura at San Diego Optimum Compounding Pharmacy. They went above and beyond to help me secure a critical prescription for my senior dog, Sammy—something he urgently needs to stay healthy and well. After calling several other compounding pharmacies with little luck, I was relieved to find this incredible team. Maii even took the initiative to call my veterinary clinic to confirm important details—on a busy Friday, no less. In a world where true customer service can be rare, these ladies delivered with kindness, expertise, and urgency. I’m incredibly grateful and won’t forget the compassion they showed. Once again, a prescription was sent to this pharmacy, and it was not in stock. This caused another delay as we had to request a transfer to a different pharmacy. The medication was urgently needed following an ER visit for seizures. I went to CVS, and they attempted to call this pharmacy, but the call went straight to voicemail. A technician from SD Pharmacy had previously assured us they would answer the call to complete the transfer, but that did not happen. This experience was extremely inconvenient. Moving forward, we will ensure all prescriptions are sent directly to CVS.
