One always worries when a well known business gets new owners, but these folks are as good as the previous owners if not better. The staff is so helpful! If there is anything out of the ordinary, like a high co-pay they call and let me know before I go in to pick it up, and they help sort out any problems.I also get my vaccines there, so much less hassle than going to rhe doctor.

This pharmacy has been our go to neighborhood pharmacy for years. Staff is excellent, informative, friendly, and thorough. They truly care about their customers and always help us out concerning new medications and insurance issues.

I went there to get a prescription for pills I have been on for two years. I called ahead twice asking if it was ready, and was not given a direct answer either time. Unfortunately, I do not have a car, so I had to walk about an hour to get there only for them to only have 15 pills. This, of course, was after they told me they did not take my insurance card numerous times, claiming that I needed a special card to pick up prescriptions. No other place has had this policy, but it was not a big deal -- I was very willing to pay for my pills out of pocket. My family moved to Queens from the Bronx in 1969. I was 4 years old. I was sick a lot as a child and my mom quickly established a relationship with Mr. Salzman, the original pharmacist, for my many medications. Salzman was one of the very few pharmacies that provided home delivery, very important for a worried mother with a sick child. For decades afterward, we relied only on Salzman for all of our pharmaceutical needs. The pharmacy also sold gifts and toys, and my brother and I bought many birthday and Mother’s Day presents at Salzman.
