Salemhaven Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Very nice set up with rooms around smaller dining/recreation areas. Food seems tolerable to the residents. Staff was cordial. Parking is very limited.

My mother-in-law has been here since April. My husband and I could not be happier with her new home. From the beginning, dealing with Bill, who is the Director of Salem Haven, was so helpful and wonderful to work with.. He made the transition for us comforting and stress free. Kelly, who is in the office has been so helpful with any questions or paperwork he has to submit or fill out. The staff at Salem Haven have been amazing, caring and always communicates with my husband with any questions or concerns about my mother-in-law. They have many daily activities for the residents that keep them happy and active. My mother n law has made a lot of friends and seems happy there. Salem Haven is very clean. We are so happy with my mother n laws new home and highly recommend this place to anyone

Was only supposed to be here for only a few months. My parents, who have no power of attorney, told the staff they can’t take care of me when I do most of my own care. The social worker assigned to me, who knew I didn’t belong here, yet I had to call the Ombudsman to get help to get out of here. Been here against my will for six years now. UPDATE: there is a new administrator, and she has tried to fix things that aren’t broken. She has ordered the head of the activities department to attend meetings she has never needed to before. She has seriously angered the kitchen staff because she wants residents in the dining room for breakfast. However, this is near impossible because there is not enough nursing staff. On the floor I’m on, there are 36 residents and only four Licensed Nursing A

A very highly recommended place to send your loved ones if they need any kind of care. The staff are very friendly and caring tho I've run into 2 volunteers who are older that don't seem to be as friendly as the regular staff. They make your loved ones feel like home. I like that they encourage you to bring in things for your family member to help them get better. Such as calibrating a birthday. They encourage you to bring in a cake to celebrate with the person who's in there. It's a fun place. Theres always some kind of fun event going on from having someone come in and playing music, singing ect to playing a fun game of bingo!

The receptionist Carrie/ Kerie should probably learn some manners and people skills. Gave my mother a ton of attitude for simply asking for an update on my grandmother which she didn’t get for 3 hours of asking for. Don’t work in the health field if you have a sour attitude, Carrie. Not to mention no one answers the phones there when they connect you to a floor
