Saint Vincent’s Emergency Room

I have came here twice and both times have been wonderful. The wait times aren’t ideal but they have always gotten me taken care of. I have gone to my local hospital 3 times in meadville PA and was always misdiagnosed. The first time going to Saint Vincent (end of May 2025) they found out it was my gallbladder was clogged with stones as well as my common duct. I had my newborn baby and the ER staff made our family as comfortable as possible during my 5 day stay and two surgeries. I will always be thankful for the staff in there. The second visit most recently I came in with chest pain and my doctor wanted me to go to the hospital to make sure it wasn’t a blood clot due to being put on new medication. I pick up and drop off patients for a living and have never been treated so rudely at any other hospital except this place. The security tells you where to park only for someone else to yell at you and to move while in the middle of unloading a patient on wheelchair lift and threaten to ban you from ever being at the hospital. Then you move again to the place where you were told to unload a different person comes out and yells at you again to go back to the other place. I filed a complaint with the agency that books myself for these transports. Problem is everyone one wants to be in charge of the drop off area but nothing is done about people leaving their regular cars in the spots meant for my handicap van/bus to load and unload with a lift.

I came here with very bad pain in my toe due to an ingrown toenail. When I checked in I was asked how much I rated my pain, I said a 9 out of 10. I warned the staff that I didn't have insurance and that meant I went there because I was really in pain. I waited in line for more than 2.5 hours, after which the PA examined me, made a small puncture in the wrong place and said that there was no abscess. We convinced that I was in pain and needed surgery but I was sent home after prescribing an ointment. At home, I punctured the skin myself and a lot of pus came out, which means that there was an abscess and the PA did not specifically remove it. I refuse to pay for such a rude and indifferent attitude towards my health.

Saint Vincent ER is the worst place to go for help. I would rather have a stroke then go sit in their ER again. They place you in a waiting area with a ton of sick people for hours 5 hours and counting and never check on you. They have a nice staff other than the ER service. this is the last time I come to their ER department for anything I would rather bleed out!

Don't go to an ER often but I went because my girlfriend was hurting and in pain, came in around 3, she finally got called around 4(I waited in the waiting room) and she FINALLY got a room 4 HOURS LATER with a needle in her arm. The waiting room was packed multiple times. So this was DEFINITELY the worst experience I've had. On a side note some random lady kept looking at me, made me very uncomfortable
