Safeway Pharmacy

It is a beautiful store with a surplus of helpful staff!!! What a great addition to San Tan Valley/Queen Creek.

This is miserable pharmacy. No matter what time of day or what day you are more than likely not going to have one side open it's either the drive thru is closed or the inside is closed. I do not understand. There seems to be at least 5 or more staff inside, all looking like they could careless about the patients. If you try to say anything about the long long wait or not being open inside or not open in the drive thru they get snappy and rude. Pretty annoying.

Called in regarding my new insurance today. The girl that answered the phone was rude. Cuts you off before u even finish a sentence. Wanted to ensure my insurance information was updated for 2025 with my new RX. She talked to me like I was an idiot. I work in the medical field and couldn’t fathom talking to people the way she did. Down right rude. She clearly hates her job. Safeway please get staff who have better customer service and people skills. In person I have never had any issues with any of the staff I have encountered. Usually the same 2 male workers that have helped me very professional and pleasant.

I moved to San Tan Valley from Mesa and was using Safeway for my prescriptions and just transferred them to this location because it was close and easy to stick with the same store for my meds. I feel awful for the staff here because they are overworked and understaffed all the time. The drive through is never open, it's almost impossible to reach them by phone, and the line inside the store is always a long wait. It's not their fault and they are doing the best they can, but jeez, something has to change. I ended up transferring to another pharmacy because I just can't put up with the delays it was causing getting my medications.

When I first started using this pharmacy, they were great. However, they've been on a steady decline and they are not good at all now at fixing issues regarding controlled prescriptions. The people there always pass the buck and never want to fix the issue themselves, instead telling you that it's an issue with a provider or your insurance. Bottom line: If you have a prescription that you can't go without, don't waste your time getting it filled here. Way too much of a hassle.
