Safeway Pharmacy

I've had excellent service from this pharmacy this year. I'll definitely be using their services when I return to my island home each season.

Although they are quick and efficient, when I need to call instead of coming in, they rarely answer the phone. I believe that it's due to understaffiing. There are only 2 pharmacies here and insurance dictates which one I go to. It is convenient to pick up prescriptions while shopping.

This pharmacy filled an RX for Paxlovid on top of Avorstatin/Lipitor. This pharmacy neglected to see the red flag and stop the RX. My husband suffered a toxic reaction that resulted in a 24 hour hospital stay. Kidney enzymes messed up. Unconscious. Ambulance. This hospital refused to report to CDC and VAERS. CDC and VAERS had non English speaking operators and phone disconnects so I was unable to report this negligence myself. The doctor that wrote both RX’s was negligent as well and his staff refused to report to CDC and VAERS as well. Office manager blamed ME!!!

I was very shocked at the behavior of the pharmacist here. I was in the process of asking the person behind the counter about my prescription and giving her info to look into it and the pharmacist came up behind her, read the screen without addressing me and told me abruptly "we don't have that here, you're going to have to figure out what else you can use". I was mortified that he had looked at my personal information without my consent and further that he gave me useless advice on how to proceed. I asked if my prescription could be ordered, because, after all it had been prescribed to me, and his response was " we haven't had that in in years. I was able to get my prescription filled at the pharmacy next door without any difficulty, they didn't have it in stock but they ordered it for me

Very helpful. Staff is always very polite, efficient, and professional.
