Riverview Pointe Care Center

We had an amazing experience at RiverView Pointe! It was very overwhelming & new to us- I decided to place my father, 90 with Alzheimer’s, at RiverView Pointe after reading the reviews & ratings. I’m happy to report that my father & our experience met/exceeded reviews. We could not be happier with our 3 week experience in the skilled nursing wing- The Greens. The therapy team was on point! After my dad regained his strength, he was up walking daily. All therapists were friendly and gave great advice, tips and tricks for continuing at home. My father truly loves the staff who worked with him and took care of him. Excellent nurses, aides & housekeeping- they all need to get paid more! After an accident my mother was in need of some therapy to bridge the gap between the hospital and home. Not only were Riverview pointe great in their correspondence but moms stay was wonderful. The food was ok, the nurses and aides were great and not transient or temp workers that don't care about the patients. Lastly the therapists were real professionals quickly getting her back on her feet and strong enough to go home. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you.

Facility is nice, staff is ok, usually with exceptions. The food is horrible. Brought food for my family member often. The facility is understaffed. You WILL wait 20 minutes after you press your bell button, or longer. Good luck at the shift changes of 7am and 7pm hope you don't have an emergency . The rehab unit is overrated. They do not accommodate patients with extensive rehab needs. They like the patients who can get up on their own and need just a moderate to mild amount of therapy. Anyone else needing extended or intensive therapy they will not work with. In fact, they try to push them out the door and discharge them saying they will be no better because the staff are lazy and don't want to do the hard work. Very disappointed in Riverview Pointe. The facility is very beautiful and clean. The staff is friendly. But be aware because the facility is grossly understaffed. The physical therapy facility was falsely advertised with bikes and other equipment basically non-existent. My relative developed bed sores there because of not being shifted or moved from the bed the first 9 days. This is definitely a for profit facility focused on shuffling patients in and out quickly for the money. Again, the facility is easy to get around and beautiful but a focus on patient care should be emphasized.

This facility's standards are low related to personal care. Lack of communication between staff and family members is a major barrier to quality patient care. Family members visiting are made to feel unwelcome and are also assumed to take responsibility of the patient's home environment upon visiting. Overall this facility provides a lower standard of care than expected
