Riverside Eastern Shore Family Medicine

Medical professionals are great, support staff are mixed. As a veteran I use Community Care program, and the VA pays the bill. Frequently, I get billed because Riverside didn’t bill the VA like they should and then I have to deal with billing to get it corrected. The billing department is very helpful. Recently Riverside screwed up by not making a referral request to the VA when they should have. As a result the VA won’t pay Riverside and Riverside is billing me. I have left 4 messages for the office manager to notify them of the error so it wouldn’t happen to others and I haven’t had the courtesy of a return call - really poor customer service! The receptionists and people answering phones are also great.

Not a good place for veterans. You can hand them the referral from the VA and they will still charge you a co-pay. But (fortunately for us) don't accept big bills because we found out later from the VA there is literally no co-pay. Nice friendly people but really bad with paperwork and keeping appointment times. Waited 40 minutes past appointment and finally gave up. edit: they also apperantly charge $340 for a first time visit yet cannot break $100 bill. for the co-pay (which shouldn't exist anyway)

Yesterday was my first visit here. I can't say enough good things about Amanda, Dr. Humes and the entire staff. I'm so happy! The MyChart app and text messaging are great, the care I received from the people are outstanding. I agree with Holly Johnson, leaving ES Rural Health was one of the best things I ever did.

Leaving Rural Health was the best thing u could have done! I am a hard headed difficult patient, lol, but Dr. Sessoms is the best. She listens and tries to help figure things out, while at rural health, you're just a number.

Tammy Hedspeth, NP is great medical care giver. The staff and her assistant, Tonya are very hospitable and professional handling patient issues.
