Richard Calkins, APRN

Richard Calkins is amazing. He took care of me through my adolescence years and now take care of my daughter just like she’s his own! Wonderful man! Always very thoughtful, thorough, and patient.

My apt with Richard Calkins was, hands down, the best doctors apt I have ever had. He and his student were great listeners, empathetic, and did not rush through my apt. Being overweight, doctors tend to blame everything I am experiencing on that. I did not feel this way once. They took the time to help me come up with a game plan, that was completely manageable, and resources to achieve it. I felt like they were on my team! I walked out feeling lighter, and excited to see my progress. I look forward to my next apt with him. I appreciate all the staff that worked with me, but Richard was absolutely the best! Thank y’all!

This gentleman is awesome! He knows his stuff! He treats you like family, remembers your family history, talks with you about your family. Makes you feel very welcome. He is very knowledgeable and continually studying to provide you with the best care possible. He is a outstanding nurse practitioner! I make the hour drive because I know he will provide the EXCELLENT CARE I deserve!

I have been a patient at the Georgetown Ascension location for many years, but this was my first time seeing Dr. Calkins. I found him to be very professional, caring, and thorough. I was the last appointment at the end of a Friday. He did not rush me, and he explained the course of treatment to me sufficiently. I will gladly go back to see Dr. Calkins the next time I need medical treatment, and any other provider at the Georgetown Ascension location. I have never had an unpleasant experience here!

My daughter has/had fluid in her lungs with severe chest pain and we went to Dr. Caulkins for help. He promised me he would help us figure out what was wrong with her and we never heard from him again. Can’t get anyone to call us back from the office, and can’t get anyone to call in a CT scan. Worst experience I’ve ever had. I will never go back to Ascension. They do not care about their patients.
