Residence at Salem Woods

There is so much I want to say! Long story short... I took my 9 year old autistic daughter to the Easter event on the evening of April 17, 2025 and a young boy literally took a golden egg from her. She asked a few times for him to please give it back and didn't, he just ran off laughing. When I said something to the Administrator, he was very kind and apologized. Him and a few other employees went above and beyond for my daughter today, to make up for the incident, even though it was not their fault. If they are this kind to people who are not residents there, I image the care the residents receive is amazing! Thank you again so very much for your kindness!

The first 2,3,or 4 reviews I read were from supposed employees that have been there for multiple years. They say how great a place it is and that they really enjoy working there, and take care of the residents like they would want their family taken care of. Well if that is true then they must not take care of their own family or watch over them ,and not just allow an elderly person to just up and make decisions that are not in the best interests, or safety for the residents who stay there. They just allowed my uncle, which is just shy of 80, to say that he was tired of being there and allowed him to sign himself out on his own without once contacting his family to let them know that he just walked off the property stating that he is going to Miami Florida to live with his sister in law.

My husband was a resident for a little over a month. He was unable to do anything for himself at that time. He received excellent care and was treated with utmost respect. They were very couteous to me as well and addressed all of my concerns very quickly.

Salem Woods is such an incredible place. Great staff who have all been there a long time and enjoy caring for their residents. The building is clean and safe and the food is great :) Tons of great activities and admissions are made easy. Highly recommend!

I am so thankful I found Salem Woods for my brother. As i walked in the door, I was kindly met by Rita the receptionist. She was warm and wecolming. While waiting on the Addmission Director, i glanced around and noticed how clean and tidy everything looked/ There was a pleasant clean smell. if you are like me, there are thing you expect when choosing a nursing home..Then i was greeted by Liz the AD. Again, she was wecolming and kind. I had so many questions. she was so patient with me. while walking with her. Everyone we we passed nodded and smiled. From the head of housekeeping( Heather , her husband the maintence man and the nurses along the way. I have ask for help from the business manager, the social worker and the head nurse on my brothers unit Shelly! They have all been soo kind to
