Reisenauer Dermatology

I've been seeing Dr. Amy Reisenauer since 2019. I so appreciate how dedicated she is to her patients. Always going above and beyond when and if there is anything that needs attending to. As one of the top dermatologist (if not The Best!) I feel lucky to have her on my medical team. (My insurance does not cover her, however I wouldn't trust anyone else as my dermatologist and pay out of pocket to see her.) Recently she found a melanoma on a friend, which makes me even more dedicated to my annual visits.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Reisenauer’s for over ten years. She is the kindest and most thorough dermatologist I have ever had. The office is beautiful and there is even coffee! But mostly it is her competence and bedside manner that are so impressive. I highly recommend her.

While the medical care itself was excellent and professional, the front-facing experience was not. The staff were impersonal and, at times, rude, which significantly detracted from the visit. After I expressed discomfort providing my Social Security number, the receptionist loudly announced that she was shredding it. This response was inappropriate and unprofessional, and it reinforced my concern that there is no secure or discreet process in place for handling sensitive personal information. Basic courtesy, discretion, and a more secure system for collecting confidential information are needed to ensure patients feel respected and comfortable.

Dr. Reisenauer herself was condescending to me as a patient on her table. I had been there several times before and had some pleasant experiences by others who did my appointments. But the Doctor herself was very patronizing and seemed hell bent on making a point, I was being treated like a child by Dr Reisenauer. It's a vulnerable position to be in when you're being examined and I hope at one point she remembers that. She was demeaning. I never went back after that. Never will.

I have been seeing Dr. Reisenauer ever since moving to Maui. She is knowledgeable, patient, caring and super talented. It can take a while to get on the schedule but it is worth it!
