Rajni Kalagate

Many of these negative reviews had me worried for my first appointment this morning, but my experience was great. The woman at the counter was friendly and kind upon checking in. The doc's assistant who led me into the room & asked me questions was nice as well! And Dr. Kalagate herself was very attentive and kind; she actually considered my concerns with the pain I'm having. (I'm often dismissed by other doctors, especially because I'm not "old enough" to be having the problems I'm dealing with, as they say.) Medication and an order for an MRI were sent immediately, so she's on top of things. I'm very confident in her practice.

I was a patient of Dr.Kalagate for almost 10 years. Her office had trouble with my prior authorization and Dr.Kalagate threatened to drop me as a patient because “I was taking time away from her kids.” Always rude and dismissive during my visits. She made me feel terrible for things that were out of my control.

Dr. Kalagate herself is a good doctor, but I would never recommend seeing her due to her office staff. I saw her for two and a half YEARS with no issues before office staff informed me on one visit “oh, we don’t take your insurance”… which they had already done, again, for two years. I was told that Dr. Kalagate had never taken my insurance and the receptionist who took my info initially messed up when booking me as a new patient. When I asked how that was possible since I had been paying them my copay the whole time, they told me it looked like they had just never attempted to send my invoices to the insurance company and hadn’t been doing billing properly on my account… again, for TWO YEARS AND A HALF YEARS. The staff, the nurse practitioner, and Dr. Kalagate are very kind, show that they do care about my health, and listen carefully to my concerns. My Lupus flairs has been very well managed since I started seeing Dr. Kalagate. Plenty of parking. Parking is free.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the unprofessional treatment I received from Dr. Kalagate and the staff at Dr. Kalagate’s office, which resulted in my abrupt and unjust dismissal as a patient. I have been under Dr. Kalagate’s care for over a year without any prior issues. However, the situation began when my daughter was referred as a new patient. After a month of not hearing back from the office, I called to follow up. I was informed that the referral had been received but had issues. I was told someone would call me back — that call never came. I followed up again and was then told that an insurance referral was required, which I explained was not the case.
