Quaint retro soda fountain complete with counter and twirly stools. Great ice cream and the best shakes around. Food is also available and all is reasonably priced. Great customer service, very clean, bright and cheery. They've got a nice greeting card area an also a pharmacy in the back.

Such a cute little place. We had the strawberry ice cream and it was great. The atmosphere is very small town and very comfortable. The staff was great. Can’t wait to go back

I loved this little old fashioned soda shoppe with 50's look including counter and stools. It was clean, well kept, the staff was friendly and it was very affordable. Nice little downtown area as well. This place has lunches, ice cream and old fashioned sodas plus a very neat pharmacy. I took my 16 year old there and my niece/nephew who are 7 and 9. They all loved it. Their lunch menu is very limited, about 5 food choices that suited our needs.

As a retired pharmacist moving from a northern suburb of Chicago, Lake Forest, to Midway. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to have the Railroad Drugstore. I was the manager of the tony pharmacy in the iconic Palmer House Hotel, with the popular soda fountain visited by celebrities performing at the Palmer House, Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller, and many others. The sodas and malts were the best made by what was called a 'soda jerk'. To have a retro soda fountain in Midway is the BEST plus the lovely friendly family owners. Have a chili dog and malt while you wait for your prescription to be filled, an experience not available at Walgreen's or CVS!
