Radiology Department at Overlook Medical Center

I need sedation for my MRIs due to pain and claustrophobia. The wait is often long but the staff who organizes and the RN are SO sweet. I would say the only issue is I have ehlers danlos and have told that to the anesthesiologist on each occasion. One of them blew me off and sedation wore off leading to me trying to pull out the airway. Many docs tend to IGNORE this until they see patients waking up but the other doc who did the others was awesome and the nurse was awesome. Scheduler is really kind.

I had several MRI’s in the last few months ar Overlook in Summit. Unfortunately my experience wasn’t good. I get nervous being in the MRI machine and it would be helpful to know what to expect. The tech doesn’t explain anything! The last MRI of the abdomen, I couldn’t hear the instruction provided after I was in the machine and I pressed the button to get the tech attention. I advised her that I can’t hear it. Then again I couldn’t hear her. She sounded frustrated with me which further increased my anxiety. At the end of the scan the machine begun to vibrate a bit I wasn’t expecting it and it made me feel more anxious. I feel like that tech should explain what to expect so person is not surprised and adjust volume before the scan so patient can follow that is asked to do. The tech didn’t s

I had a brain MRI scheduled for 8:15am and arrived at the window 10 minutes prior to 8am. I was told I had lost my place and that I needed to rescheduled. My turn was given to someone else. This MRI was scheduled a year ago. Their MRI policy leaves a lot to be desired. I had to reschedule my appointment with the brain surgeon as well.

Had a very positive experience here tonight. My MRI tech was Rob and the nurse was Surge who I thought was exceptional. Hopefully I won’t need another MRI, but if I do I wouldn’t mind taking the trip back here.

You should not accept appointments for MRI in children if you are not capable of placing an IV in her tiny veins without put in them to sleep. What a traumatic experience we had here. My 5 year old has done MRI’s and PET-CT scans without anesthesia since 4 and no problems with that, she is a true warrior, many nurses say she’s better than some adults, but we always have done it with pediatric nurses, because they know how to place IV’s on kids! Here, as I went in with my daughter I ask, do you have a pediatric nurse here? The answer is: “no, I’m the only person here, you will have to trust me. And I’ve been doing this for a long time.” Dumb me trusts him. He pokes her in 1 hand and then another and no vein found. The excuse is “she’s moving to much”. My daughter is screaming scared and in
