Quarles Dermatology

I saw a lot of bad reviews and was kind of nervous going in, but he was fine! Friendly and great manners, figured out my issue quickly. Explained the condition, even wrote it down for me, went over the steps for fixing it and also had a chat with me about non-medical things. Easy, quick experience and I'd go back to him for sure.

It's been about two years since I've been in but I just received an email from them out of the blue and it jogged my memory of my bad experience. (Way to keep up with your patients, by the way. Two years, really?) Anyways, I Went in for a mole I needed biopsy on. I was recommended by another Dr. To have it removed after I gave birth due to the drugs they would have had to use not being safe for my unborn child. Well I went in, the tech or whomever she was, was nice enough I guess but when Dr. Quarles came in he had horrible bed side manor. Basically said I didn't need the mole removed, laughed as I expressed concern about the numbing drugs affecting my breast milk, said "I'm not going to touch your breast milk", not my concern at all. Dr. Quarles has been my dermatologist for the past 12 years. Both at his Virginia Beach Office (2 locations) and when he moved to Norfolk. Exceptionally professional and friendly. Earnestly concerned with my well-being. I would recommend him to my family and friends for their health concerns.

Dr. QUARLES is a good dermatologist, he gets straight to the point and he has tons of experience. He made suggestions and it worked. I understood one thing that when it comes to skin care everything matters. If we have a poor diet it will reflect in the appearance of our skin. What we put in our bodies also effect the outward appearance. Such as greasy foods, sugary drinks like soda,etc. I know that if I don't eat healthy foods the dermatologist skin products may not be as effective, but if I eat green leafy vegetables, lean meat, and make better choices overall. The outcome will be great. Sometimes we expect miracles from doctors in a short period of time. But we all have to do our part to get a positive outcome.

I had a bad experience.... years ago!! Thought he had retired! His staff at the time was horrible and he was rude....I pray he has become friendlier and has hired a staff that reflects the same.
