Publix Pharmacy at University Village Market

The pharmacists and techs at this pharmacy are always incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and willing to help, even when they’re clearly busy. For those leaving negative reviews about wait times or delays in filling prescriptions, please understand that these issues are not the fault of the pharmacy staff. Pharmacies—especially those in large chains—are often understaffed, with a nonstop workload and countless prescriptions to fill. The pharmacists and techs are doing their best under difficult circumstances. If you’re frustrated with long wait times, the real issue lies with corporate management, which sets staffing levels and workflow expectations. Despite these challenges, the team here remains professional and patient, providing excellent care to customers!

I’ve been trying to get a prescription filled for over a week and just now was informed that they cannot fill the prescription because of a policy. That would be totally fine if they had informed me, but instead I received a single text saying that my prescription was “out of stock.” I had to call in to the pharmacy to find out that said policy was the hindrance and there was no stocking issue. Very frustrating as it’s an important medication that has a huge impact on my well-being.

I had ab extremely easy prescription to fill that was out in during my doctors appointment. They said any pharmacy would have it done in an hour because it was easy. I showed up 3 hours later and they said they had not only not started it but had only just received it which I know is not true. They then switched the story and said they were backed up and just didn’t get it done.

They don’t bother to explain what the prescription and informed that the medication is not covered by the insurance.

Not good experiences at this pharmacy. My doctor would call in perscriptions, but even if I came in 1 day later the pharmacy it wouldn't be ready. On a Friday they told me they didn’t have my medicine in the store and had me drive to another Publix for it, my only other choice was to wait until Monday. When I tried to call to remind them to fill a doctor-ordered prescription, they never picked up the phone, so I went in person, and of course the medicine wasn't ready so they told me come back later because they were busy and it would take a while. This Publix is close to my house so I gave it the benefit of the doubt on many occasions, but I’d rather drive 12 minutes to a different Publix than to use this one’s pharmacy. Never had an experience like this with a Publix pharmacy before.
