Let me start off by saying the night shift RN Autumn is a breath of fresh air for a nurse. So kind, so understanding, so empathetic, so willing to help. SHE DESERVES 5 STARS, but sadly the doctors in this ER deserve 1. I came to Providence all the way from Riverside because I love Providence doctors and know that they are supposed to be a prestigious hospital. I was just discharged from arrowhead regional (what a nightmare) 3 days prior but my symptoms had become so much worse since getting home that I searched and searched for a prestigious pulmonary specialist team and drove an hour and a half with shortness of breath to finally be helped the way I deserved. But nope! Doctor was very dismissive. Johnathan Akstinas, DO. I previously had told RN Autumn about how gaslit I felt at the other

I'm sure most people only review an ER when they have a bad experience for whatever reason. But I've been here a couple times over the years and have nothing but good things to say about the folks here. Heard the same from other folks who had to go to the ER. They are genuinely kind and seem to care about what they do. I'm not the kinda guy who enjoys going to the hospital at all and I've only been to the ER when I was afraid of a serious health issue which already makes one feel anxious. But everyone from the top down was gracious with me and got me started on a path to take care of the ailment with my PCP. shout out to PN Beh and Dr. Nguyen. Oh and definitely to the folks at the front desk who have to take the brunt of the complaining. They are stand up individuals. Thank you all again a

Came in on a late Friday night with little to no wait time. I was seen, diagnosed, and treated quickly by the attending, Sofia, and night nurse, Gabby. Both took the time to explain everything clearly and were very compassionate, making sure I was always informed. I’ve had my share of awful ER visits, but these incredible women made a super stressful situation more manageable.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Believe the bad reviews and expect even worse. If you need the ER in Santa Monica, go to UCLA. It's worth the extra time you may spend there to ACTUALLY get treated. I went into St John's ER on a Sunday night at 8:30pm due to severe muscle tension that refused to let go after every OTC treatment +muscle relaxers prescribed by Urgent Care. They referred me to the ER. I was NEVER examined by the doctor- she checked my heart and lungs, but never once touched the muscles I told her were tense to gauge what was going on. After waiting 5 hours and for labs to come back- IN THE LOBBY, mind you, while entire hallways had empty beds, I was told "there is nothing we can do" and she sent me home with a prescription for an anti-anxiety medication. So, she decided wi

I went to Providence Saint John’s ER on June 19 in severe pain with visible hair splinters embedded in my feet, hands, and face. I have been a professional hairstylist for 30 years with constant exposure to cut hair, which can penetrate the skin as foreign-body splinters. I told Nurse Practitioner Marcie Hulpa my symptoms clearly and even showed physical evidence. She stood 2–3 feet away, barely looked, and diagnosed me with a vague “skin rash.” That was it. No proper exam. No tools. No imaging. No serious attention. I was in real pain, could barely walk, and left untreated and humiliated. I’ve had 9 visits with 5 doctors this year, and this was one of the worst. They wasted my time and dismissed my condition without care.
