Providence Alaska Medical Center

I had a C-section in October, and unfortunately my experience with pain management was very inconsistent. On the second night, my nurse was over two and a half hours late administering my pain medication. This delay caused the most severe pain I have ever experienced. While I was in extreme distress, the nurse asked how much morphine I wanted, instead of simply helping me manage the pain I was clearly in. The following morning, my pain medication was again over an hour late. I strongly believe this negligence delayed my recovery and negatively affected my ability to breastfeed. That said, not all of the staff were like this. We also had some truly amazing nurses who were compassionate, attentive, and incredibly helpful, and I am very grateful for them. Providence is a part of life. Those life changing moments that bring unimaginable joy or unending sadness. Always an exhausting time. Getting that “ I dare you. Eat it” look from the lady preparing burgers ? That is unforgivable. If I had the power I’d fire her on the spot. Friday? About 4:00 pm. 😡

Providence is a disorganized mess. Had a billing issue, talked to the billing department, they told me they can't help with the way it was coded and that I need to call the doctor. Why the billing dept is unable to communicate with the doctors team I don't understand. Seems like something like this would be very basic customer service. Had to call 3 more numbers before I got someone who could look at the coding to correct it. The care is fine, but if anything goes wrong with billing Providence will refuse any accountability for their mistakes. It will be a nightmare trying to have it corrected.

I’ve relied on the excellent group of caregivers at Providence for years to take great care of me and my family. From imaging, emergency room visits, surgeries and extended stays in their state of the art NICU, there is never a time I haven’t been unbelievably grateful to have such an incredible health care center to depend on. They’ve mastered medicine but also compassion, which is sometimes not the case in healthcare facilities. I’ve never had to wait long for any service and my questions are always answered thoroughly and with smiles. Today I needed a scan and was fortunate to have Dylan taking care of me but most every staff member there has made me feel completely comfortable. On a side note, I’ve spent a lot of time in their cafeteria and gift shop, both unexpectedly impressive. The

I'd rather not...Recently, I was experiencing a problem with a neighbor in the middle of the night. I called upon my best friend Jesse Joseph and he came over right away . I called Anchorage 311 and Asked To Be Brought To Providence Hospital Emergency Room.. It was May 9th ,2025 ..The Emergency Room wasn't busy at all . The Nurse Was Fantastic. I felt very safe and comfortable. Not sure how long before I met with the doctor....but the second I mentioned to Him That I Occasionally Use Methamphetamine He Didn't Seem to Listen or Care About Anything That I had Said. And He Discharged Me , sent me home in a Lyft Immediately After I met with The Doctor . I left with out any paperwork at all. I just happened to have saved the Hospital Wrist Band ...the date was May 9th, 2025. ..I DO LOVE
