ProMedica Physicians Toledo Pediatrics

My sons have been going to Toledo Peds for 11 years and I also went to Toledo Peds as a child. The quality of their staff has gone down hill tremendously in the last 5 years. I always wait on the phone for 30 plus minutes before being able to speak to someone to schedule an appointment. After 11 years we are finally switching providers.

Emailed school forms to be completed on July 17th and still haven't received them back. Currently on hold with the office for over 13 minutes. We have gone here for almost 7 years and the office keeps getting harder to get ahold of. They are in SERIOUS need of more staff. Also, our beloved pediatrician Dr Collins retired and the attention and care hasn't felt the same since. Edited to add: After emailing someone from the office did call and resend the completed form which I greatly appreciate. You can tell they are overworked and understaffed. Toledo peds will only function as well as they value thier office staff! Added a star for the quick reply.

The medical assistants here are horrible. Took my son in for his 7 month appointment (he was off track a month bc of rescheduling so technically was his 6 month check up) and vaccinations. The older lady with glasses took us back to a room. Looking at the chart she’s asking us why we are there. I said we have an appointment. She continuously goes back and forth with us, saying we don’t do 7 month appointments. I told her, we are a month off and the doctor scheduled this appointment, there isn’t an issue. She keeps saying “I don’t know why you’re here, you shouldn’t be here” Mind you this is MY son’s appointment when he’s getting his checkup and vaccinations and other concerns we wanted to talk to the doctor about which IM paying for being there. My son is almost 2 and a half now. We have been going there since he was born. Since he was about six months old about once every 3-4 weeks to maybe once every other month he gets these insanely high fevers ( 102-104) he throws up he gets the chills his lips even turn purple sometimes. He won’t eat he don’t sleep. The only thing he will do is chug his water. We started with the first dr. She didn’t seem to take our concerns seriously. Told us it could be related to teething or a virus. Sometimes they are related to his ear infections ( don’t worry we will get to that part in a few minutes) we switched to the 2nd dr same thing didn’t seem to take our concerns seriously would blow it off to a virus or teething or the sick season( even though it happens all year it don’t matter the time of ye

We had only good experiences with Dr. Gerlach! She was very kind and patient with the boys. The nurses were all fabulous. And I loved that I was able to get in for a sick visit the day of, even on a Saturday! If you are looking for a great pediatrician, Dr. Gerlach is fabulous!
