My experience in the emergency department exceeded my expectations . I am thankful for Nurse Renee. She is a nurse with great standards and she is a nurse with great Quality. She went above and beyond and changed my perception of this hospital. Baptist you did a great a job hiring her. She is the best nurse I have ever encountered in any emergency room not only in the State of South Carolina but NYC , Michigan and North Carolina. Emergency Room my family is grateful for your services .

The second ward I’ve been to. Much better than three rivers.(pls do not send your family or friends there.) Baptist seems to genuinely care for the well being of their patients. Food was good as hospital food can be. You were always aloud a change of scrubs if asked for, (this includes socks). I was in the child unit, so shout out to all the nurses there EXECPT for the excercise nurse because she had a tendency to yell at one of the special needs staff, which frightened me and made me pity the man. For the latency side, their bed time was 9. For adolescent we got 10. One thing I can say is I appreciate the separation of ages, when I was in the psych ward at three rivers at 11 I was bullied by 17 year olds and couldn’t defend myself at all. Family member was transported here by ambulance from the irmo location due to going in for black/blood in stool and feeling weak. Stayed 2 days and got an endoscopy and she had to beg for someone to tell her the results. She was told by a nurse that the GI doc told her the results while she was still sedated, which is beyond stupid. Hemoglobin was 8.5 which is low, yet they still forced her to discharge to make room and threatened to call security. Doctor and nurses on first night were great. Doctor working the second day, a little man, was a sarcastic loser. They give you a sheet for medicaid that has a dead number on it for you to call and make complaints, it is worthless and not a working number. Do not go here unless you have no choice.

Runs tests without consent or knowledge to the patient & now I’m stuck paying $300 for a blood pregnancy test even though I had a full bilateral Hysterectomy. Also had tests done with no updates. Was told an hour ago they’re waiting on my paperwork (currently 3:52 pm 1/26/2025). How am I going to get discharged with no answers? DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE AT THE ER

My mother had chest pain in the middle of the night. When she arrived they took her back immediately, there was no wait. Her nurse only had her and she received one on one care. Her issue was addressed promptly and she is doing great from their timely response.
