Professionalism, clear instructions and explanations. Happy to meet Dr. KUNANI for my kids: a teenager, a toddler and a baby. Just can't believe that somebody can have negative experience with her. Never rude or impolite. As clients are not always right, moms are not always right too. If you are looking for professional pediatrician you've found!

Dr. Kunani is an amazing pediatrician. We moved into the area and it was hard to find a good doctor. When other pediatricians at Kaiser weren't to my standards, I got an appointment with her and immediately switched my boys to her as their primary care physician. I actually begged her to take them as patients as she was not accepting new patients at the time. Thankfully, she obliged. Dr. Kunani saw both my boys for about 10 years. My oldest was 3 and my youngest was 1. Unfortunately, she moved away and we had to switch to another pediatrician. As much as I have enjoyed the most recent doctors, none of them have compared to Dr. Kunani. She is kind, thoughtful, loving, and a beautiful soul. My 4 years old got injured while riding a bike; another bike crashed into him making one whole nail broken, and dangled. I could see active bleeding on the base of the nail. Luckily we could make an appointment that was two hours after the accident but it was with dr. Kunani whom we had ever seen two times before - Our experience with her was not pleasant before but I wanted to see any doctor as soon as possible due to the severity of the injury. She came in 35 minutes after the actual appointment time (i understand that the office gets busy sometimes so no problem) then she listened to what happened for two minutes, then explains about her treatment plan which was prescribing otc antibiotic ointment. I’ve given this pediatrician 3 chances. Each visit with her is worse and worse. My husband and I were instructed to leave my baby unclothed & wait for this pediatrician. She took over half a hour. My poor babe was unclothed and cold the whole time. Mind you, this office was NOT busy at the time. When she finally showed up she made my baby step on the cold floor barefoot, didn’t matter that my baby was crying hysterically. So heartless and not hygienic. She could have let baby step on the bed at least. She also scolded me for not socializing my baby for 6 hours a week. She scolded me for giving my baby too many vegetables and not enough carbs? This is not only the worst pediatrician I’ve ever had experience with, this is the worst medical professional I’ve ever had to deal with in my life. We took my son in and he left in literal tears to the point where I had to reschedule his labs because he was so upset. To say this doctor is unprofessional is a total understatement. I have never left a negative review on any kind of professional or establishment before, but I feel like I have to warn other parents about letting this person treat their children, and I fully intend on filing a formal complaint with Kaiser.
