Plastic Surgery Associates

I highly recommend looking elsewhere if you're ever referred to this practice. They are dishonest and a bunch of crooks in my opinion. Our daughter needed a helmet and we were referred to Plastic Surgery Associates. They told us prior authorization with our insurance was successful and we would be responsible for 20%. We paid, and the procedure went well. A few months later we got a bill from them for the remaining 80%. We called our insurance and they said they had never even spoken to Plastic Surgery Associates concerning our procedure. Not only that, but the person Plastic Surgery Associates put down as reference for the prior authorization form didn't even work for our insurance company. Save the frustration, avoid these liars if possible.

I made an appointment at Primary Children's to get a small growth removed from her finger that was present at birth. Dr. Schmelzer walks in, takes a look at her finger, and says, "Yeah, this is no big deal, we can take care of this easy" and tells me to set up an appointment at his private office (Plastic Surgery Associates) and gives me his card. He then left the room. I thought, "Seriously?! That was a joke." I never made an appointment with them, I made an appointment with the Primary Children's satellite office in Riverton and got in the next day. The doctor there came in, tied a string around the growth and said it should fall off in about a week. Dr. Schmelzer couldn't have done that? She is fine, no big deal right? A few weeks later, I get notification that Plastic Surgery

Billing was ridiculous to deal with. Dr Schmelzer did nothing for my baby-looked at her and said she was fine then we asked questions-he hurriedly answered them and ushered us out. Then we got stuck with a ridiculous bill and they refuse to call my insurance.

This office billed us fraudulently and wasted our time. They will misinform you about insurance policies, and then bill you. I've been trying to get in touch with their office manager over and have been unable to, because she apparently lives in Mexico?? Absolutely abysmal experience and wish we had never contacted them.

I Had Dr.Schmelzer do eye trough fillers with vallure filler and my eyes were swollen, black and blue for nearly 4 weeks. I went back about a week after procedure with concerns of trama and the uneven lumpiness from fillers. He assured me with healing it would even out. Well it didn’t and after the severe swelling went down I was left with sagging skin on my lower left eye! Two years later I see an eye dr for a different reason, but he asked me if I’ve had fillers cause he noticed the abnormal unevenness. So he offered to reverse the filler since it’s not going away or getting better. DO NOT make the mistake I did! Read the reviews of any dr before a procedure!
