Pierce Care

I absolutely recommend this place. Both my parents were there and they were treated with such dignity during their hardest end of life times. They felt loved, and the staff was so conscientious and caring. I called at different times of the day to check in on my parents and they could tell me at any time exactly how much they weighed, how much they had eaten that day, any medicines they needed, how their mood was etc. They were meticulous with note keeping and so competent. They did the hard things like bathing them and helping with hygiene etc and never once did my parents feel unloved or less valuable. They would talk to them and hug them and really got to know them. I stayed at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home from 1/31/25-2/15/25. When my husband called to see if they would have room for me, Gloria, the nurse, told him that they would accept me. We had an appt at Yale New Haven Hospital at 3:30 pm on a rainy, foggy day/night (it was winter so it got dark early). My husband called to say that we would not be arriving until 7:30 pm. Gloria told him to call back when we were leaving New Haven. How thoughtful of her! Gloria was waiting for us at the entrance. She came outside and she assisted my husband and son as they got me out of the car and into my wheelchair. I felt a real connection with Gloria. She kept track of my blood pressure for awhile. Pierce staff took good care of my sister. Cleaning lady (Michele) was the best person, she really cares and jokes with the patients makes them feel like they are someone. i was a little disappointed that they didnt keep me updated on her care. Coupl of nurses when i was there to visit, said some things to me that was a little disturbing. but all in all they did their best always short staffed. i just found out that the death certificate still hasnt reached the cremation facility so her body is still there waiting. that makes me very sad.

You could not have asked for any better care than the staff provided my mother and father over the last 5.5 years until my dads passing September 1st of this year. They are all kind, caring and extremely professional. The folks behind the scenes are also exceptional.

The staff was exceptional during my mother in laws stay there. She was very comfortable and had great things to say about everyone that helped in her recovery.
