Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home

I had the honor of going on a tour with Mr. Ken Vybiral. Everyone was very friendly and I was also privy to playful military banter. The art pieces in the facility are breath taking. I can see why my father used to tell me to drop him off there when I couldn't handle him anymore. It appears to have a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere to the place. The brig was nostalgic. It's to bad they dont use the chapel with the stain glass window of Lincoln.

I've never been here but want to see it for myself. This was once a marine hospital near the garand grounds on the bay. There is a lot of history in this soil/ soul.

The best kind of two-for-one...It's often a creative effort to keep children amused in mind-stimulating ways. One of the ways to accomplish this is a journey to the Soldiers and Sailors home in Erie. This is one of the oldest settled areas of the city, and it oozes historical ambiance. We would grab our metal detectors and comb the open-to-the-public grounds behind the home, "searching" for remnants of the original Fort Presque Isle, an elusive spot which was burned to the ground in the mid-1700s. No one is quite certain of exactly where it stood, so we would diligently try to crack this ancient case. A single replica structure of the long lost fort, the Wayne Blockhouse, is located on this stretch of land which stimulates lots of story-telling and historic embellishment in itself. Aft

My grandfather is a resident at the Pennsylvania soldiers and sailors home. My grandfather is also a veteran of the Navy, and has spent many years of his life serving and protecting this country, and the care he receives at the hospital is very upsetting. I am constantly worrying about his safety, and I fear that the home is taking years off of his life, due to the type of treatment he receives there. Due to my grandfather’s age, he cannot live with me because he needs more surveillance during the day, while I’m at work, otherwise I would’ve taken my grandfather out of this home along time ago. No veteran deserves to be treated the way my grandfather has been treated. I also feel like this home has to be cheating the government because my grandfather does not receive the care that he is ow
