- writing for my wife I visited this ER due to severe dehydration symptoms I’d been experiencing for five days. I was having extreme nausea, couldn’t keep any fluids down, severe abdominal pain, and as a breastfeeding mother, I was extremely worried since I couldn’t nourish my son. Despite clearly explaining all my symptoms, the care was dismissive. After a brief fluid bag and Zofran, the doctor barely listened, said my labs were normal, and discharged me without a diagnosis or further explanation. They didn’t even let me finish the bag of fluids, but I’m certain they charged my insurance for the full price. When I told them my pain was at an 8 out of 10, they still didn’t offer Tylenol. Was hopeful for a better experience than at Mount Nittany. Visit on a Thursday, middle of the day - looked like a zombie hospital. Waited 30 minutes...for what? Where were all the patients and employees? Hoped for a quick xray, in and out, took as long as it would at Mount Nittany. Nurses were nice but the doctor needed a note card to do a routine check. Won't go back. I don't trust the care.

And if there was an option to put zero stars, I would… I have never written a google review for an establishment before, but after my sisters recent experience with treatment here, I was compelled to do nothing but write a review. My sister was experiencing severe abdominal pains to the point where she was struggling to walk. When arriving to the hospital, there was no sense of urgency to provide her with the proper care which was distasteful from the start. It was clear as day that she was very sick. Blood pressure was 167/111 and no further intervention was done. All that she was given was nausea medication and was discharged after requesting further tests to be ran, which was a hassle within itself. My daughter received the best care at the ER. The staff, nurse, and physician were very caring, personable, and they really listened. Having a student at Penn State, you need to know that they can easily access top notch care, and that’s exactly what they gave here . We left the ER with answers and a plan. If I could rate this hospital a 0 I would. This hospital did not listen to my symptoms after I expressed severe abdominal pain. They were ready to discharge me without even taking out my IV yet. The doctors had an extreme lack of communication when switching shifts and wanted to discharge me while my blood pressure was still high. This hospital will not listen to you and will try to get you discharged as soon as possible. They were extremely rude when I wanted to ask questions about MY health and ignored me when I asked for a certain test.
